Sacrilege: Torn Pages of Guru Granth Sahib found in Ludhiana village

Another incident of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib has been reported, in Lamma village near Raikot, Ludhiana, on Saturday after torn pages of the Sikh scripture was found on the village link road.

Cops led by senior superintendent of police (SSP), Jagraon, Surjit Singh reached the spot and initiated investigation. The police and locals collected the torn pages.

Village resident Jagdeep Singh said he noticed the pages on the road to neighbouring village Cheema, and informed Gurdwara Panjuana Sahib, following which the members of its management committee reached the spot.

SSP Surjit Singh said, “We collected the torn pages with due respect, and sent these to the local gurdwara.” A case was registered against unidentified persons and various teams were formed to trace the culprits.

Balbir Singh, head of the gurdwara committee, said residents are helping the police.
