Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has said that the Shiromani Akali Dal and its alliance partner BJP are all set for the coming Lok Sabha polls and the list of the candidates will be declared soon at appropriate time.

Talking to the mediapersons, the chief minister, who was here on Sunday to attend a private function at Gidderbaha, said: “The alliance is all set for the polls and the list of the candidates will be declared, when required”.
Replying to a question about the release of election manifesto, he said: “Party’s general secretary Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, who is also the chairman of the election manifesto committee, is holding meeting of all sections. I am hopeful that based on the interests of all sections of society, the election manifesto of SAD will be released soon”, he added.
On the progressive Punjab agriculture summit slated to be held from February 16 to 19 at Chappar Chiri, Mohali, the chief minister said that the summit will give a new direction to agriculture in Punjab. “Agriculture needs new direction as foreign experts, representatives of companies, agricultural experts and scientists will teach new techniques to thousands of farmers of the state”, he said adding that the state’s economy was based on agriculture and it was the need of the hour to give a new direction to agriculture.
About Congress’ position in the Lok Sabha elections, Badal said, “The Congress has promoted corruption and poverty during its regime and now the country needs the NDA government under the leadership of Narendra Modi.”
