Punjab finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa here on Wednesday said the SAD-BJP government was working for the betterment of the masses. He said the government was working for the development in the state and it was the Congress party which had always misled the general public.

Dhindsa is on a two-day 'Sangat Darshan' visit in Lehragaga constituency.

Talking to media, he said during the Congress regime, the state was under loan debt of 42% which has come down to 30% during the SAD-BJP government rule. He said the Congress party was misleading and spreading rumours that the government was cash-strapped.

"Development projects are being launched. People-centric policies are being framed and implemented successfully. Even the government schools are equipped with computer labs to provide computer education to all students across the state. The government will soon conduct interviews to hire teachers as well," added Dhindsa.

He said the work for water courses in Ladbanjara village has been started and within this year, Kotla Branch project would also start. "The government will spend Rs 85 crores on underground water supply for better irrigation facility to farmers," said Dhindsa.

The finance minister visited seven villages on day one of his visit.
