The members of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and members from SAD (youth wing) on Friday gathered at Gurdwara Nada Sahib in Panchkula and condemned the demand of another gurdwara management committee in Haryana. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Avtar Singh Makkar will visit Nada Sahib on Saturday. The meeting was addressed by SGPC member Harbhajan Singh Samana who condemned the demand for a separate gurdwara managing committee for the gurdwaras in Haryana. Addressing the meeting, he said that 90 percent of the Sikh population was with SGPC and the rest was being misled by congress party in the state.

Samana added that this won't be tolerated and that the SGPC will write to every DC in the state asking them not to support the demand.

A meeting in this context will be held on Saturday as well which will be addressed Punjab Rajya Sabha MP Balwinder Singh Bhunder and SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar. The state's sikhs leaders have been demanding the creation of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC).
