The Shiromani Akali Dal on Thursday announced that it will take up the issue of the alleged violations of Punjab Reorganisation Act by the Chandigarh administration in filling posts of teachers with the UT administrator.

SAD spokesman and former education minister Daljit Singh Cheema said, “As per the Punjab Reorganisation Act, all employees were to be taken on deputation in 60:40 ratio from the states of Punjab and Haryana. But without consulting the states, the UT administration is filling teachers’ posts on its own.”

Cheema said after the UT administration started relieving deputationist employees without any reason, the Shiromani Akali Dal had taken up this issue with the then Punjab governer, urging him to ensure filling posts as per the quota fixed for the states of Punjab and Haryana.
