SAD wins all 14 zila parishad seats in Moga

The Shiromani Akali Dal has won the all 14 seats of zila parishad in Moga district. Senior akali leader Paramjit Singh Tarewala won the Fatehgarh zila parishad zone by a huge margin of 15,732 votes.


SAD candidate from Gholia Kalan zone, Jaswinder Kaur, won the seat by a margin of 9,491 votes. Amarjit Kaur, wife of SAD's (SC/ST wing) president Bhupinder Singh Sahoke defeated the Congress candidate with a margin of 13,342 votes from Bilaspur seat. Kartar Kaur of SAD won her seat by 12,070 votes, while Jasvir Kaur won the Smalsar zone by 12,514 votes.

SAD candidate of Ajitwal zone Rachhpal Singh won his seat by a margin of 12,578 votes, Jagtar Singh won Dhudike seat by a margin of 11,954 votes. Baldev Singh of SAD won the Ghal Kalan zone by a margin of 13,443 votes. Gurmeet Singh of SAD won the Jalalabad zila parashid seat by a margin of 11,729 votes.

Senior youth akali leader Buta Singh won the Daulatpura seat by a margin of 12,732 votes and Gurbind Singh won the Singhan Wala zone by a margin of 13,381 votes. Pritam Singh Dinna won the Patto Heera Singh zone by a margin of 9, 371 votes. From the Gloti Zone, SAD candidate Avtar Singh won by a margin of 15,135 votes, Harbans Singh won the Mahla Kalan seat by a margin of 14,484 votes.

SAD-BJP clean sweeps in Ferozepur
Ferozepur: All the 12 zila parishad seats in Ferozepur were bagged by the ruling SAD-BJP combine, while of 107 block samiti seats in the district, 93 were secured by SAD, 11 by BJP, 2 by independents and Congress won only one seat.

Out of Twelve zila parisahd seats, 10 were conquered by Akalis and two by the BJP nominees. Among the winners are four women - Jinder Kaur of BJP from Ali Ke zone; Balwinder Kaur from Bajidpur, Neelam Kaur from Mamdot and Charanjit Kaur from Vakilan Wala.
