The sale of diesel vehicles has decline for the past sometime due to decrease in petrol price and increasing price of diesel.

The periodic cut in prices of petrol has made an impact on the car market in the country, leading to decline in the demand of diesel cars.

Jnaneshwar Sen, senior vice president, marketing and sales, Honda, was in Ludhiana on Thursday. He said that now, the sale ratio of petrol and diesel cars was almost same in the entire country, adding both petrol and diesel cars cost same these days.

He said while there was a decline in sale of cars by 5%, a sudden spurt of 7% was witnessed in the sale of passenger cars from January to April this year.

“Punjab is the fastest growing market for automobile industry and till April, our company had witnessed a significant growth,” said Sen.
