Deputy commissioner Arshdeep Singh Thind, on Friday, conducted a surprise raid of the civil hospital here and directed the authorities concerned to improve the working of the hospital within 72 hours. He asked senior medical officer (SMO) Dr Prabhat Kumar to take complaints of patients regarding the working of the hospital seriously. The DC also talked to patients and inspected the attendance register of the hospital. Patients told the DC that doctors did not attend the patients on the 'first come, first served' basis.
He asked the SMO to attend patients as per their enrollment in the register.
The deputy commissioner also asked the hospital authorities to take up the issue of the lift with the higher authorities as it was found out of order.
He also asked the SMO to make arrangements for cleanliness in and outside the hospital premises.
