Congress Sangrur MP Vijay Inder Singla has been appointed member of Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) and member of Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee (RDTAC), Patiala, by UPA government.

RDTAC is an advisory body and deliberates measures for developing mutual understanding and cooperation between the taxpayers and Income Tax department.

Singla said he will raise issues on this forum to remove administrative and procedural difficulties being faced by taxpayers in this region.

"Nomination on these forum (s) will help in furthering the interests of various stakeholders and developing informed opinion on economic and international issues," he said.

He claimed that the ICWA, an institution of national importance, is engaged in promoting India's relations with other countries.

He is also an active member on various government bodies including a consultative committee of the ministry of finance, the committee on energy, the committee on MP Local Area Development (MPLAD), Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research and the Food Corporation of India.
