Sangrur police honoures 57 girls

With a view to encourage girls towards studies, the district police have honored 57 girls of the district, for their excellence in education.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Sangrur SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu, said, "the police officers of the district have collected Rs 75000 for the cash awards to girls, and 57 girls of different educational
institutions of the district have been honored"

He said that the step has been taken by SHO's and incharge of police posts of the district to create sensitivity in the police and encourage the girls towards studies.

While addressing, the gathering, DSP (R) Gurpreet Singh Dhindsa said, "the girls should prepare their mind for any challenges, the girls are equal to boys, but they need to think positively".
