Sangrur: Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa inaugurates three power grids

Shiromani Akali Dal secretary general and Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, on Saturday, inaugurated three electricity grids in Bhativala, Bharom, Gahila villages constructed at a cost of Rs 12 crore.

He said the SAD-BJP government was doing its best for the welfare of the people of the district. He lauded chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for giving free electricity to farmers and 200 units free to members of the weaker sections of the society.

He said the day was not far when the state would have a 24-hour electricity supply in all the villages and cities. He said that in 2014-15 nine grids with a capacity of 66 KV were constructed at a cost of Rs 50.17 crore.

He was accompanied by chief parliamentary secretary Parkash Chand Garg. Garg said a plan had been already prepared to construct 20 MVA grids at a cost of Rs 5 crore in the district.
