The district police arrested two people for carrying country-made liquor here on Friday. The Ahmadgarh police arrested Amritpal alias Amba, 50, and sized 52 bottles of country-made liquor from him.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Labh Singh said Amritpal, who runs a provisional store at the Channa Chowk, was arrested on the spot.
In the second incident, the Cheema police arrested Amandeep Singh alias Amna, 24, of the same village, while carrying country-made liquor in a plastic container, which measured about 18 bottles.
ASI Narinder Singh said while Amandeep saw the police at a naka, he turned to another direction. Doubting his movement, the police stopped him and on search the liquor was recovered from him.
