Sarah, Mritunjay continue their winning spree

Harvest Tennis Academy trainees Sarah Dev and Mritunjay Badola continued their fine run entering semifinals of the AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament at Harvest Tennis Academy in Jassowal on Wednesday.

In the girls' under-14 event, second seed Sarah defeated eighth seed Nairuti Vyas of Gujarat 6-2, 6-1, while in the under-16 Sarah got the better of sixth seed Muskan of Delhi 6-1,6-3.

Mritunjay also had an easy outing as he defeated Sumit Pal Singh of Jammu and Kashmir 6-3, 6-4, to enter semifinals in the boys' under-16 age group.

In the other quarterfinal matches of girls' under-14, top seed Prinkle Singh of Jammu and Kashmir had an easy passage into semifinals defeating seventh seed Neha Mokhasi of Maharashtra 6-2, 6-4. Fourth seed Muskan of Delhi defeated Radhika Yadav of Haryana 6-2, 6-1, while third seed Shreya Gulia of Haryana outplayed sixth seed Mubashira Shaik of Andhra Pradesh 6-0, 6-0.

In boys' under-14 , top seed Megh B. Patel of Gujarat defeated sixth seed Calvin N Golmei of Chandigarh 6-3, 6-3, while Rhythm Malhotra of Delhi beat Vipul Mehta also of Delhi 6-0, 6-3 to enter semifinals. Fourth seed Kabir Manrai of Chandigarh had to fight hard for his semifinals berth. He defeated fifth seed Aman B Patel of Gujarat 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 in three sets. Second seed Himanhu Mor of Haryana also entered semis with an easy win.

In the girls under-16, top seed Aarushi Kakkar of Chandigarh, fourth seed Neeru of Haryana and second seed Prinkle Singh of J&K made it to the semifinals.

Top seed Param Pun of Chandigarh, third seed Paras Dhaiya of Haryana, fifth seed Digvijay Pratap Singh of Chandigarh made it to the semifinals in the boys' under-16 age group.
