SBI's Chandigarh circle gets key officers

Pendyala Surya Prakasha Rao and Manoj Khattar on Tuesday took charge as general manager network-1 and network-2, respectively, at State Bank of India, Chandigarh circle. Network-1 comprises all branches in Punjab, while network-2 consists of branches in Haryana.

Pendyala Surya Prakasha Rao and Manoj Khattar on Tuesday took charge as general manager network-1 and network-2, respectively, at State Bank of India, Chandigarh circle. Network-1 comprises all branches in Punjab, while network-2 consists of branches in Haryana.


Rao, who has a BCom degree and a diploma in business finance, is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, Chicago, US.

Prior to his posting at Chandigarh, Rao was general manager at SBI's corporate centre, Mumbai, handling the private equity business.

He played a key role in launching new private equity funds, said a release from SBI. He has been working for the bank for 31 years in different capacities both inside and outside India.

Meanwhile, Khattar, Msc (stats) is a probationary officer of the 1983 batch. Before joining Chandigarh, he was posted as DGM (business and operations), zonal office, Vishakhapatnam.

During his overall 30 years of work experience in the bank, Khattar handled several critical roles, including rural business at Hyderabad, credit risk management at Mumbai, and commercial banking at Ahmedabad.

The changes in the SBI's Chandigarh circle (comprising Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh) come on the heels of Lingaraj Mahapatra taking over as chief general manager.
