Three labourers had a narrow escape on Sunday morning after a dilapidated building of a private school collapsed in the town.
As per information, three labourers who were standing near the building of Happy Balwadi School, which was lying closed for some time, were trapped in the debris when the structure crumbled at about 11.30am.
The labourers were rescued by people who rushed to the spot. Later, the local administration swung into action and cleared the debris. “Fortunately, no one sustained any injury. We have asked the municipal committee to prepare a list of dilapidated buildings so that they can be dazed to avoid any mishap in future,” said Ferozepur sub divisional magistrate (SDM) Sundeep Singh Gra, when talking to Hindustan Times.
Ferozepur MLA Parminder Singh Pinki also visited the spot to take stock of the situation.
