To create awareness about rules and regulations for safe driving and transportation of school students among conductors and drivers, a camp was conducted at DAV Public School, Sarabha Nagar Extension on Pakhowal Road on Thursday.

The district transport officer (DTO), Anil Garg, along with his team of doctors and fire fighters, conducted the camp in which 70 drivers and conductors participated.

This was the fourth camp organised by the DTO office. Garg said, "During the awareness camp conducted under Safe Vahan Scheme, bus drivers were informed about the Motor Act and the Supreme Court's directions. A medical camp check up was also organised for drivers. They were also informed about the use of first-aid kits and fire extinguishers."

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Bikramjit Singh, zone incharge, said, "During the camp, the drivers were informed not to use mobiles while driving, not to jump red light and wear uniforms."

School principal Mohan Lal Sharma said, "Students' safety is the prime objective of the school and we regularly supervise the school transport system."
