Science City to organise first dog show in Kapurthala

More than 40 dog breeds from the state and outside will take part in a district first 'All Breed Open Dog Show' to be held at Pushpa Gujral Science City here on Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

Maharaj Brigadier Sukhjit Singh (Retired) will be the chief guest on the occasion while Sumant Tuteja and Mohinder Singh Mokha from the Kennel Club of India (KCI) will be the judges.

Breeds including American Bully, German Shepherd, Labrador Retrievers, Dobermans, Pakistan Bully and Bull Dogs will take part in the show.

A special exhibition will also be organised on 'Biodiversity of Domesticated Animals' by Punjab Biodiversity Board, Chandigarh.

Ashni Kumar, public relation officer of Science City said that they are getting overwhelming response from the public.
"More than 150 dogs of around 40 breeds have been registered with us to participate in the dog show and still registrations are going on," he said.

There will trophies for the best breeds, best group and best puppy while the seven best show dogs will be given cash prizes.
