Sources in the police said that a task force of SGPC will form first ring of security around the minister when he visits the shrine.

there will be security even inside the Sanctum Sanctorum , Akal Takht sahib and in the entire Parikarma, sources said.

Police commissioner Nageshwar Rao informed HT about having a closed door meeting with his police officials where he said duties have already been assigned to everyone.

“Amritsar police would be monitoring the entire city; we would be ascertaining that no untoward incident takes place and for that policing would be done proficiently. There would be no compromise on the security arrangement,” said Rao .

He also said that SSPs and ACPs will personally be on duty.
