Following expulsion of rebels by its alliance partner BJP for contesting MC polls against official candidates, the Shiromani Akali Dal also swung into action today and issued a warning to party rebels to mend their ways or face disciplinary action.

"Indiscipline will not be tolerated by the party and rebels have no place in the party and they will have to be expelled," Sekhwan said while naming some rebels, namely Pratap Singh and Sahib Singh Dhillon from ward number 8, Mandeep Jassal (13), Bhagat Singh, Mohinder Singh Goli, Juginder Singh Jogi, and Gurmeet Singh Pappi (43) and Inderjit Singh Sonu (56).

"SAD candidates for MC elections have been selected purely on the basis of winnability and no rebel will be allowed to sabotage party's chances," he added.

District SAD president Gurcharan Singh, MLA Pargat Singh, Improvement Trust chairman Baljit Singh Neelmahal, party vice-president Hans Raj Hans, SAD member Kulwant Singh and others were present on the occasion.
