Seminar on adolescent health held at GNPS

A seminar on adolescent health 'Adolescent 2014' was organised at Guru Nanak Public School by DMCH's pediatrics department, Ludhiana, Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Punjab State and Adolescent Health Academy, Punjab State Branch.

500 students from various schools of the city and their parents participated in the seminar which aimed at creating awareness, offering choices and stimulating some introspection in adolescents to take responsible decisions in the long run.

Renowned doctors from all over the country discussed the impact of media, problems related to scholastic deterioration, physical and mental health etc. with adolescents.
The interaction was multimode where the speakers interacted with the audience using videos and powerpoint presentations. They guided the parents and reiterated them to help children develop skills and strategies so that they can solve problems on their own.

At the end, an interactive session took place where parents put forward their experiences and discussed ways of developing a healthy parent-child relationship.
