The rift between United Cycle and Parts Manufacturer Association (UCPMA) and Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO) has surfaced once again with both the organisations deciding to hold separate functions to celebrate Republic Day on Monday.

There are several traders who are members with both the organisations.

So those who decide to participate would have to miss one of the functions for sure.
FICO is also going to award nine industrialits during its function.

The rift between both the organisations is not new. After UCPMA president Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma replaced Gurmeet Singh Kular over an year ago, there have been several instances of tussle between both the leaders.

Currently, Kular is the president of FICO.

The FICO has organised the function at MSME Development Institute, Pratap Chowk, while the UCPMA has organised the function at its office on Gill road.

However, FICO has been able to invite Satish Dhanda, the chief of industrial wing of Shiromani Akali Dal.

Dhanda holds an influential position in the party while the UCPMA has been able to invite bike manufacturer Subhash Kumar Lakra as the chief guest.

Insiders believe that the separate Republic Day function is a show of power by both the groups.

The industrialists, whom FICO will award, include- Bhupinder Singh Sohal from machine tools industry; Jatinder Chopra from auto industry; Surinder Singh Chatwal, Harmohan Singh Mankoo, and Ravi Mahajan from bicycle industry; Gaurav Sachdeva from medical profession; Vijay Mehtani from garment industry; Surjeet Singh Chaggar from electrical business and Jagmohan Singh Kalsi from food processing industry.
