The Progressive Bee Farmers' Association and Kisan Club organised a meeting on quality and production enhancement on the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) campus in Ludhiana on Friday. The meetings were held under the aegis of RS Sidhu, director of extension education, PAU.

Attended by several farmers and PAU experts, the meeting was marked by lectures and debates. Programme coordinator TS Riar said, “Farmers in Punjab can take their productivity and quality to new heights, if they regularly follow agricultural university's guidelines on various methods. Some farmers don't adhere to right methods due to which they suffer losses.”

Kisan Club president Ajit Singh Aujla said, “Such sessions benefit us a lot as the participants' minds get fortified with many new and efficient ways of farming and allied activities.”

Rupinder Kaur, who coordinated and represented the women members, said the farm women were acquainted with the significant contributions made by the rural women in agriculture and allied occupations.

Besides, practical trainings for the preparations of recipes using turmeric (haldi) and flax seeds (alsi) were also imparted.
