40 people injured in bus-truck collision near Jalandhar

Forty people, including the diver, suffered injuries when the bus belonging to Radha Swami Satsang Beas collided with a truck loaded with wheat bags on the Jalandhar-Amritsar highway on Friday. A total of 46 people were in the bus going to Beas Dera to attend a monthly satsang.

Forty people, including the diver, suffered injuries when the bus belonging to Radha Swami Satsang Beas collided with a truck loaded with wheat bags on the Jalandhar-Amritsar highway on Friday. A total of 46 people were in the bus going to Beas Dera to attend a monthly satsang. The truck driver fled from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle.

The bus occupants informed the police, who, along with others, took the injured to a nearby hospital. The injured were later shifted to Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

Bus driver Vijay Kumar of Adampur told the police that the truck driver suddenly took a turn, resulting in the accident.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and Adampur MLA and CPS Pawan Kumar Tinu met the injured at the PIMS.

No case has been registered so far. However, the truck has been taken into possession.
