Local police on Thursday busted a sex racket running under the garb of a massage centre in Urban Estate locality.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Sarbjit Singh said that on a tip-off that a big sex racket being run in the Urban Estate phase I locality, the police sent a fake customer to the massage centre who bargained for a girl.
As soon, the police received a signal about the deal and presence of some young girls and youths, it raided the massage centre and nabbed five girls and five youths including the owner of the centre Anju Bala, he added.
Singh further said that it was a joint operation carried out by the police teams of Bhargava Camp and PS division no 7.
"During preliminary interrogation, it had come to light that the customers were offered different packages ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 2500 with the option of choosing a particular partner for sex. The girls were in the age group of 20 to 22 years," said Singh.
