The UK woman, who has accused Indian hockey team skipper Sardar Singh of sexual exploitation, on Wednesday appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) to record her statement.
The complainant, who came with her counsel, also submitted photographs and call details between her and Sardar to the SIT. Taking to HT, the woman said she stuck to her statement.
Sardar appeared before the SIT on March 1 and pleaded innocence.
Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Satvir Singh Atwal confirmed that the complainant recorded her statement with the SIT.
The London-based complainant, a former under-19 England hockey player, has claimed that Sardar got engaged to her in 2014, following which they entered into a physical relationship. According to her, he met her during the London Olympics and promised marriage. However, when she got pregnant, she was forced to undergo an abortion, she alleged. Subsequently, he started ignoring her and went back on his promise, she has claimed.
