The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandik Committee (SGPC) has constituted a three-member committee to look into the management and upkeep of two historical Sikh shrines located in Leh and Ladakh.

A release issued here on Tuesday said the committee would visit the shrines of 'Pathar Sahib' and 'Datun Sahib' in Leh and Ladakh and prepare a report on the physical state of the buildings of the two shrines as well as on their management. Both these shrines are associated with Guru Nanak.

The committee comprises SGPC executive committee member Rajinder Singh Mehta, additional secretary of the dharam parchar committee Satbir Singh and SGPC assistant secretary Daljit Singh Bedi.

The committee will submit its report to SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar. Thereafter funds could be made available for repairing the buildings of the two shrines as well as improving the existing facilities for pilgrims.
