BJP veteran leader and candidate from Kangra parliamentary constituency Shanta Kumar on Tuesday sang the praises of Prem Kumar Dhumal, with whom he has shared strained relations, during Narendra Modi’s rally here.

Shanta said how he and his successor worked for the development of HP. While Dhumal was not present at the rally, Shanta said he and Dhumal had always fought for the honour of the country.

“In 1977, when we had demanded royalty on electricity produced by the state, we got 15MW electricity free, besides 1,260 crore as royalty, and still get 36 crore a year,” claimed Shanta adding, that they had also taken out a Himachal Adhikar Yatra to demand the rights of the people of the state.
