Four people suffered injuries when a blast occurred in a residential building at Annadale in Shimla on Wednesday morning.
Building owner Ganesh Dutt, who is opposition Bharatiya Janata party leader, is alleging some ‘suspicious’ activities.
“There should be a proper probe into the incident,” he said.
Police is also not ruling out possibility of chemical explosion as the victim worked in some medical testing laboratory.
Uneasy calm was prevailing in the Annadale area and locals were gathered outside the building. Uma devi, who lives in same floor said there was a big sound and wall dividing our room with next door neighbors collapsed.
Forensic team was yet to visit while civil administration, Fire brigade and police officials reached on the spot. Police officials said all LPG cylinders are safe and reason behind the blast. “Forensic team will visit the spot and anything can be said after the forensic report,” he said.
It was a high intensity blast causing damage to three rooms in ground floor of a residential building and also window glasses of five buildings were broken. Local resident SK Thakur said it was an high intensity blast. “There was a big sound followed by a jolt and all glasses were broken,” he said.
