Shital Vij, son booked in five more cases

The Directorate of Factories has slapped five more cases against industrialist Shital Vij and his son Sitesh Vij for violations of the Factories Act, 1948. In its inquiry, the department found that out of several industries owned by the duo, five do not exist in department's records.

The Directorate of Factories has slapped five more cases against industrialist Shital Vij and his son Sitesh Vij for violations of the Factories Act, 1948. In its inquiry, the department found that out of several industries owned by the duo, five do not exist in department's records.

Both father and son have allegedly not submitted any information of these units to the industries department.

Of the five industries, three are located in focal point, one in Gadaipur industrial area and one in Gaji Gulla area. Three of today's cases have been filed against Shital Vij and two have been registered against son Sitesh Vij. Parmal Singh, deputy director of factories, filed these cases on Wednesday in the court of chief judicial magistrate. It is being probed how these units were granted various clearances.

Six cases have already been filed against Shital Vij for violations of Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, Punjab Industrial (National festival holidays, casual and sick leave) Act, Interstate Migrant Workmen (regulation of employment and conditions of service) Act, Building and other Construction Workers Act, Factories Act.
