Shiv Sena Hindustan has condemned the attack by locals on community kitchens and stone pelting that left several persons injured at Baltal area that is the base camp of Amarnath pilgrimage in south Kashmir.

Shiv Sena also blocked the national highway and tried to highlight the alleged injustice done to the pilgrims “who had gone to visit the Amarnath shrine”. The protesters also burnt Omar Abdullah's effigy.
Shiv Sena district president Anil Singla said, “It is a sheer failure of the Jammu and Kashmir government, who were not able to protect the pilgrims. However, the fanatics and religious zealots, who attacked the innocent pilgrims should be dealt with severely and given harsh punishment.”
He said separatist leaders in valley were hell bent to destabilize the “ancient pilgrimage of Hindus, on orders of their masters sitting in Pakistan” said Singla.
He also said that those involved in the attack should not be spared by the state government.
Shiv Sena district youth wing president Anil Sahni said “J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah is hand in glove with those elements who were creating problems in the Amarnath yatra. Safety of Amarnath pilgrims should be the priority of the CM irrespective of religion or caste.”
