Road rage: Shiv Sena youth wing leader shot at in Phagwara

In a road rage case, Phagwara youth wing president of Shiv Sena (Punjab) was shot at and critically injured by a youth in broad daylight near Sugar Mill chowk here on Sunday evening.

According to sources, Sumit Bhandari, president of Shiv Sena youth wing, Phagwara, accompanied with a friend,was heading towards Jalandhar when his car was being hit by another car driver from behind.

Following the accident, heated arguments were exchanged between both of them and accused Raj Kumar Batra opened fire at Bhandari, who susteined a serious injury in his leg.

Phagwara superintendent of Police (SP) Ashwani Kumar said that attacker, Sumit had been detained by the police and Bhandari was shifted to a local hospital for treatment.

“We are investigation the case, a clear picture of the incident will come out after proper investigation,” the SP added.
