The management of Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Solan, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Next Gen Technologies Inc, Manhattan New York in USA, to encourage cooperative relations between the two, in the field of education and research, thus building a strong alliance with the industries.
Earlier, the university had signed a MoU with Tirupati Medicare Ltd, initiating the tie up with industries of repute. This MoU marks the collaborative association of Shoolini and an International industrial entity that may spearhead the arrival of economic development as well. The current MoU entails an initial project funding of `9 lakhs with a provision of multifold increase in future.
University's official spokesman said though most of the Indian universities received financial grants through several government funding agencies, which were mostly for the academic driven research, it failed to gather the desired momentum in the absence of industrial expertise. Shoolini University has successfully decoded this barrier, which may lead to the successive stages of research driven technological refinement with the help of industrial experts and development of industrial prototypes that will eventually reach the final level of commercialisation, thus contributing towards the growth of the economy as well.
The MoU was signed by Prem Kumar Khosla, vice-chancellor of the univeristy and BK Sharma, legal advisor India Operations, Next Gen Technologies.
