With uncertainty prevailing over Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu’s candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, BJP high command has called the cricketer-turned-politician for talks in Delhi.
The three-time BJP MP confirmed this to HT saying, “The party high command has called me and I will go there and discuss all the issues.”
Sidhu, who had taken on the Badals on the issue of development last year, does not have good relations with the alliance partner in Punjab.
As the MP faces tough opposition from some BJP men in Punjab as well, the party high command is likely to hear him out in detail before any decision is taken on ticket.
The MP had recently alleged that it was Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal who did not want him to contest from Amritsar. yet again said, “Whether my political career ends or remains, Badal will be responsible for it. My stand is clear and I have already informed the party that I will not contest from anywhere except Amritsar.”
