Animation film "Singh Soorme (Valiant Sikhs)", based on the martyrdom of Bhai Sukha Singh and Bhai Mehtab Singh, was released here on Thursday.

The 18th-century Sikh heroes had slain Massa Rangar, man responsible for the defiling of the Golden Temple. The movie by Amritsar's Wonder Media group also throws light on the Sikh history of that period.

Inderjit Singh Gagoani is scriptwriter and the copyright is with the SGPC's Dharam Prachar Committee. "Video vans will take the movie to villages during Jor Melas across Punjab," said Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar, who released the film.

"The objective is to make the youth aware of the sacrifices of the two Sikh heroes," he added.
