A day after the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Damdami Taksal, decided to honour Sajjan, other Sikh radical groups on Monday joined hands to welcome the foreign dignitary during his visit to the Golden Temple on April 20.

Slamming Amarinder for his “Khalistani sympathiser” remark against Sajjan, representatives of Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindranwale), International Sikh Federation, Jatha Sirlath Khalsa and Royal Sikh Club announced to honour Sajjan in a joint press conference held here on Monday.

“We will seek permission (from the authorities) to honour the Canadian minister as per protocol,” said Balwant Singh Gopala, president of the Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindranwale).

Khalsa Diwan chief Charanjit Singh Chadha said: “Sajjan is an efficient, successful and dedicated sabat surat Sikh (with 5 Ks) who always stays connected to his roots while following Sikh principles and maryada,” he said in a release issued here.

He said the 67th Chief Khalsa Diwan World Sikh Educational Conference is scheduled to be held in Canada in 2018. He also requested Sajjan to spare some time to visit Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society during his Amritsar visit.
