The Dal Khalsa and other Sikh radical groups have announced that they will observe August 15 as a “black day” across Punjab to protest against the failure of the government to arrest those behind the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.

Dal Khalsa chief Harpal Singh Cheema said the Dal Khalsa, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, All India Sikh Students’ Federation (AISSF), Sikh Youth Project (SYP) and Satkar Committee have come together to protest against “continuous suppression of Sikh rights.” Cheema said Sikhs were facing atrocities for the past seven decades.
