Challenging the SAD in Punjab, Simarjit Bains said: "Not only are we confident of winning the Lok Sabha elections, but we will form a special Jatha under which MLAs will contest for the next assembly elections. This Jatha may not come in power but will act as the sentinel of rights of people in Vidhan Sabha."

When asked by HT whether this was a plan to form a new party, Simarjit Singh Bains said it would depend upon the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections. "As of now the plan is to form a Jatha to administer a check on the working of the goverment," Bains added.
