Punjabi singer Sharry Mann, of the Yaar Anmulle fame, has donned the hat of an actor. He will soon debut in a Punjabi film, Oye Hoye Pyaar Ho Gaya. He was in town on Wednesday to release the music CDs of the flick and interacted with HT.
“It is the love and affection from my fans that has forced me to try my hand at acting. Singing remains my life. I hope that the audience accepts me as an actor as well,” he said. He claimed that he did try his hand at theatre when in school and used to enjoy the atmosphere.
“In the movie, I play the role of an endearing romantic guy, somewhat similar to what I was in real life, ten years ago.”
He said that the character was comic, but only as demanded by the script. Binu Dhillon and Yograj Singh also have good roles, he said.
“I have also written the songs, as demanded by the situation. The aim is also to send out a message,” he added.
On the posters of the movie, which have him riding a Bullet motorcycle, he says: “The Bullet motorcycle is a dream ride for every Punjabi youngster, not only in Punjab but also in Canada. I usually try and feature it in all my videos.”
The movie, directed by Aditya Sood stars Niharika Kareer opposite Mann and releases on June 14.
