Though as a Member of Parliament Vijay Inder Singla had beaten rivals by bringing a series of development projects, but his own party is giving sleepless nights to him.

Singla is facing a tough time from the loyalists of former CM Capt Amarinder Singh, whom he terms his mentor. The equations changed when Singla backed Partap Singh Bajwa as PPCC president, which the Amarinder group was opposing.

While Surjit Singh Dhiman, a two-time former MLA and Amarinder's loyalist, has already declared to contest against Singla as a rebel candidate, Dhuri MLA Arvind Khanna is also frustrated with Singla.

Dhiman, who lost from the Amargarh seat, has objected to making Mai Roop Kaur as district unit president.

Apart from MLA Kewal Singh Dhillon, all other Captain loyalist ,including MLA Mohammed Sadiq, Harchand Kaur and former MLA Razia Sultana ,are not extending desired cooperation to Singla.

Singla is facing a tough time to please these disgruntled leaders.

Source said that Dhiman though have announced to contest against Singla, but it's a mere threat as he was pressurizing the party for a bargain for a higher post in the party hierarchy. Dhiman would certainly relent the day Captain Amarinder Singh intervenes in the situation.

Amidst the pressure, Singla is knocking at every door to please the disgruntled leaders. Sources said that the high command had taken the feedback and it will intervene. But at present, Singla is facing worrisome period.

When contacted, Singla, tried to play down the difference and claimed that the Congress was united in Sangrur.

He said that he would soon meet Dhiman to sort out the difference.
