The joint operation of Sirhind railway police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) has busted an infamous 'Lifafe Baazi' gang of fake travelling ticket examiners (TTEs) with the arrest of its three members at Sirhind Railway Junction on Monday.

The arrested victims have been recognised as Vinod Kumar, Jai Parkash and Raju Kumar, all residents of Sitamarhi district in Bihar.

Vinod Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Sirhind railway police, said there were several more members of this gang who were still operating in the northern region.

Police recovered Rs 1,700 and a knife from the gang. The SHO said these three used to dupe migrant labourers of hard earned money by impersonating as TTEs in express trains in northern region.

The police have registered a case against the alleged and initiated further proceedings. The SHO said the police were framing out a plan to nab the other members of gang and would succeed soon.
