Six arrested in separate drug cases

The district police have arrested six people in separate cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and seized poppy husk and narcotic powder from their possession. Kulwinder Singh and Baljit Singh from Bangi Nihal Singh Wala were arrested by Bathinda Sadar police with 5-kg poppy husk while they were travelling on a motorcycle near Balluana village.

In another case, Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Mandi Rampura, was nabbed by Rampura City police with 500 gm of narcotic powder near Mehraj village. In another case, accused Gurbinder Singh and Gurmit Singh, both residents of Rajgarh Kubbe village, were nabbed with 15-kg poppy husk by Maur police near Tahla Sahib village while their accomplice Parminder Singh from the same village has been absconding.

Similarly, Kuldeep Singh from Mandi Kalan and Rajwinder Singh from Gill Kalan were nabbed with 5-kg poppy husk by the Balianwali police near Mandi Kalan while they were plying on a motorcycle.
