The police on Wednesday arrested six students, including two juveniles, of Government Senior Secondary School, Bangi, for allegedly murdering a 25-year-old youth by attacking him with a sharp-edged weapon in a clash that took place between two groups on Tuesday at Rama.

The accused have been identified as Jaspal Singh (18), Inderjit Singh (17), Gurwinder Singh (17) and Lakhbir Singh (20), students of Class 11 and Iqbal Singh (20) and Sahib Singh (21), students of Class 12.

The accused had allegedly murdered Manpreet Singh alias Gori, a resident of Sardulgarh in Mansa district, in a clash in Rama on Tuesday. They have been booked under sections 302, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on a complaint filed by Jagjit Singh, the maternal uncle of the victim. A clash had ensued between two groups — one comprising the school students and other the deceased and one of his relatives — over an old enmity.

The deceased had come to his sister’s house at Bhagwangarh village a few days back.
