Schools affiliated to Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) are facing inconvenience in operating the e-PunjabSchool management information system (MIS) website wherein they are supposed to upload the details of all the students online.

As per the requirements of the e-Punjab programme, the students of all the PSEB affiliated schools have to be registered online. However, internet connectivity, collection of data from the students among others are a few problems the schools confront.

Nahar Singh, principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Model Town, said, "The server is perhaps overloaded, thus the website doesn't work properly. Moreover, a lot of staff from the school has been deployed for uploading the details of the students online and it becomes botheration when the website doesn't work properly."

Kuldeep Kaur, principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Bassian, said, "The internet is working properly but we are still unable to upload the data on the website. In fact we have maintained generator facility in our school to ensure that we can use the internet even during power cuts but since about a week, we have continuously failed to upload the data on the website." She said a complaint was lodged with the coordinator but the website is yet to pick up.

Government Senior Secondary School, Rajgarh, Narinder Pal said, "The website has not been working properly for the past 10 days. The server is so slow, especially during daytime that teachers have to take the work home and finish it during evening and night hours so as to ensure that the details of students are uploaded in time."

"Even the PSEB site has been getting too much traffic these days. July 30 is the last date to upload the details of students of board classes but if the server remains down like this, how will we manage to upload all the data?" he questioned.

Narinder Pal said, "The authorities have not even been attending calls at the toll free number. Everyone in the school has been feeling burdened."

Contradicting his claims, MIS coordinator, PSEB, Vishal Kumar said there's no toll free number in existence.

Some schools are also facing the problem in terms of collecting the data from the students to be uploaded.

VDM High School, Tibba road, principal Shashidhar Semwal said his school has strength of over 1,000 students and he has been facing a lot of problem in collecting the details from the students.

When contacted, MIS coordinator, PSEB, Vishal Kumar said, "The traffic on the website is too much due to which it responds slowly but we have been working to upgrade it. The problem will be resolved soon."
