Unidentified miscreants snatched a bag containing Rs 2.5 lakh from a mother-daughter duo near Ramnik Hotel in the town.

It was learnt that Ranbir Kaur of Rose Avenue was going on foot along-with her daughter on late Sunday evening to make payment to a nearby cement dealer when two miscreants riding a motorbike (PB-09-H-6635) snatched the bag containing the money from them and fled the spot. The incident happened around 9pm on Sunday.

Police have registered a case on the complaint of Ranbir Kaur. "We are started inquiry into the matter. As per transport department records, the registration number belongs to some other motorbike, and not a Pulsar. Police will soon nab the culprits," said Harpreet Singh, SHO City police station.
