As the Sonepat police have failed to get any clue to solve the double murder mystery, inspector general of police (Rohtak range) Alok Kumar Roy has formed a new team of senior police officers under his supervision to monitor the probe into the case.

On Wednesday, IG Roy and DIG Vivek Sharma (crime branch) reached Sonepat and inspected the spot where the bodies of a young girl and boy were found in steel boxes on Monday.

Though the police sources have already denied the possibility of the victims being local, the new team will also seek cooperation of the police in Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to get any clue about the victims and the accused.

While the police have not made any headway in the investigations so far, another problem before them is the monitoring of the dead bodies which have been kept in the mortuary of Sonepat civil hospital for around 72 hours.

The Sonepat police has already formed seven teams to fan out in all directions to get any clues about the murder and DGP YP Singhal has announced `1lakh award for anyone giving information about the victims or the accused. Meanwhile, Sonepat SP Ashok Kumar could not be contacted despite repeated attempts to get the latest about the probe into the case.
