A local court on Tuesday asked the police to submit the challan in the alleged molestation-cum-thrashing case on April 1.

Judicial magistrate in-charge Kirti Jain also asked the accused in the incident, which took place on a moving bus on November 28 last year, to remain present on the next date of hearing.

The court had earlier asked police to submit the challan on March 2.

Attar Singh Panwar, the counsel for the complainants - Aarti and Pooja- expressed surprise over delay. Panwar, who on behalf of the sisters had demanded a central-level probe, said the police should no longer delay their duty and submit the challan against the accused - Kuldeep, Deepak and Mohit, residents of Asan village.

Notably, after a video of the incident went viral on social media, Rohtak DC Shekhar Vidhyarti and SSP Shashank Anand had promised to expedite the investigation and submit the challan in “record time”.
