Aarti and Pooja, sisters from a Sonepat village who hit national headlines for thrashing boys for allegedly molesting them two months ago, have again reported getting life threats from a fellow passenger while moving in a roadways bus on Monday.

In latest development, Attar Singh Panwar, the complainant’s lawyer told HT that while the girls were going back to Kharkhaudda in Sonepat after attending college on roadways bus on Monday, an unidentified man and woman issued life threats for allegedly ruining the lives of the three boys.

"Pooja and Aarti told me on phone that man and woman claimed that they were from Asan village and said that they should withdraw their complaints against accused boys, or else they would meet with dire consequences,” Panwar said.

The girls were saved on the intervention of a woman cop on the bus, Panwar said, adding that they would lodge a police complaint in this regard also.

Notably, the sisters refused to participate in the all-khap mahapanchayat held on Sunday to resolve the issue.
