Launching a frontal attack on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday slammed the Gujarat Model of government and said that only God can save the nation if Gujarat model is implemented across the country.

Attacking the Modi's much publicised Gujarat model, Gandhi while addressing a rally at Barnala, said that in Gujarat state every second child is malnourished.

"Modi government is not taking care of poor and has given 45,000 acres prime land at a throw away prices to an industrialist in Gujarat," she said.

She also criticised the government for overlooking the plight of Sikh farmers in Gujarat.

If this is Gujarat Model, which opposition wants to implement, then I can say "Hey god save country from this Gujarat Model".

She also blasted at the opposition for making an attempt to centralise power around a single person (Modi).

Attacking the Shiromani Akali Dal, Sonia said that the SAD-BJP alliance leaders are busy in pocketing government funds.

She also held the ruling SAD-BJP leadership responsible for the increasing problem of drug addiction and said that ruling party leaders are indulging in all evils like drug smuggling and running sand mafia in the state.

"In Punjab, police is not even safe, then you can well imagine the plight of the common man", said Sonia raising the poor law and order issues of the state.

She also targeted the Punjab government for failing to implement pro-dalit schemes and said that UPA sent huge funds for Punjab, but all were siphoned by Akali government.
