With a focus on strengthening research activities, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences has decided to establish a centre of excellence in association with foreign universities.
The university has also decided to set up a Skill Development Academy (SDA) in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and All-Indian Councilor of Technical Education
(AICTE) to meet the requirements of the industry.
University vice-chancellor (V-C) Prof PK Khosla said that the after establishing the SDA and centre of excellence, students would be able to perform better. He said that strategies had been finalised to achieve get the university ranked among the top 200 of the world.
Earlier, addressing the university's faculty on the first day of the semester, the V-C exhorted teachers and staff to put in their best for fulfilling the university's vision of being ranked among the world's top 200 in eight years. He encouraged faculty to compile research papers that were published in journals indexed by Thomson Reuters. “Any university that does not have more than 200 research papers is not considered eligible for global ranking,” he said.
