Haryana sports and health minister Anil Vij said that a decision had been taken that all sports complexes in the state would be named after the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Stating that since no stadium could be named after anyone else as per the state government's decision, Vij said that former Uttar Pradesh chief minister N D Tiwari's demand that the sports stadium of village Beri be named after his father-in-law Prof Sher Singh could not be met.
Taking a dig on the statement of former Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Sharma regarding boxer Vijender Singh, Vij said that Sharma had been suffering from a disease due to which the sufferer assumed right as wrong and vice versa. Sharma had recently said that Vijender had quit due to the wrong sports policy of the present BJP government. Vij said that Vijender himself was present when the policy was framed and praised the new sports policy many a times.
